april plot: sweet dreams

For the month of April, we have a plot event called Sweet Dreams, information on which can be found here. The short of it: Travellers will be cursed to dream up their worst fears/memories/etc and other people will be able to walk in and out of the dreams! There are a lot of options of how to be cursed as well as how to interact with the cursed, so please do take a look at that post.

Here, though, you can write up a description of what your character will be dreaming as well as options for others to fall into those dreams. Remember that anyone entering someone else's dream has to touch them, so don't fall asleep in a locked loo 'cos no one's coming for you, Gwaine. :| It's time to walk a mile in Morgana's shoes, so tuck in and prepare for tragedy and horror.

Arthur's biggest fear as of right now is that all of the trials of strife and suffering that he and his loved ones have endured for Camelot's successes will come to nothing, that he will lose everything and everyone for no reason and Camelot will still fall in the end.

His dream will be watching Camelot burn with Morgana dead at his feet, Excalibur in his hand and dripping with her blood ( foreshadowing, anyone? ). He won't actually be falling asleep, though. He will be trapped in option two of the accursed, which means he'll be wandering about his duties half-lucid as he sees his kingdom and his sister dying everywhere he goes.

People that touch him will be able to see the vision in his head, but they'll have to get close enough to him to touch him first. His first instinct upon anyone approaching him is going to be immediate defence-mode. Meaning: he's going to attack. Extreme paranoia and fear and grief and just general despair are going to convince him that everyone is the enemy, and if he already knows them, he's going to think they're the undead come back to claim his life since, yanno, Morgana's kind of done this to him twice now. So good luck with that. :'|b

Gwen's biggest fear is going to be being forgotten. Her dream will have everyone forgetting who she is. Even her own father will appear in her dream, not knowing who his own daughter is.

I'm going for option two for her. At first, it's going to be little day dreams here and there, and then the dreams are just going to just consume her, to the point where she'll believe she's completely invisible.

For the people that touch her, they will merely not realize they've done anything. They won't forget her if they just touch her, but if they touch her for long enough, they'll forget her as well (if I'm getting this right... or is it they'll be forgotten as well??). Either way, forgetting will happen.

oh sure you'll insist on rescuing a guy while he's shirtless and sweaty in a cave, but one locked restroom...

Gwaine's biggest fears at the moment come down to:

--- MOST THINGS CANONPOINT-RELATED. So you know, fighting as entertainment and losing (maybe Elyan getting dragged in to replace him), good times awaiting slow and inevitable death in a cell and... being fresh out of motivation to say things to make it sound like it's no big deal (or I guess saying something to that effect only to find that his cellbros have gone on to greener pastures before him, so to speak), getting hard proof that Arthur and possibly Merlin are dead and Camelot is lost like a sock to a dryer. Basic stuff.
--- Kind of any situation where somebody really needs him and he completely and utterly fails to deliver. Nobody cares for helplessness. Plenty of flexibility on how this sort of thing could go.
--- Aaaand being horribly betrayed by his king, just like dear old dad.

Irrational, yes, serious fear, also yes. Come watch him get ultimately brotrayed by Arthur and possibly learn about his father? Or possibly mostly watch him be an angry kicked dog. Still working out what the most nightmarish variety of said brotrayal would be for Gwaine, but I needed this option to be a thing that exists.

I'm thinking option three in being cursed for him. It's nice to have the mobility to visit other people or to be visited without shouting in the middle of a street or something.

As far as the people who touch him go, it's pretty much straightforward on that front. Touch him, dream a dream. Basically however someone might want to drop in is free game. Though admittedly I'd probably be slower if someone wanted to visit in the more interactive sense, because what is writing characters in the background without feeling like a butt. :|a

...Oh my god, that last one tho???

I think I need this like burning. Can we play it out so like, there's the two Arthurs and then swordfight with the real one because I am confuse?? I am more than okay wit Gwaine kicking Arthur's ass, but I'd really love it to end with Arthur killing dream!Arthur as a sort of "I'd die before hurting you in this way" thing and then they can have awkward brohugs after they wake up and everything will be horrible forever.

Forever.

I am so up for playing it out like that it's crazy. Why do you hurt him so, dream!Arthur, he thought you were different. So much that he swore he'd catch a grenade for you.

UGH IT WILL BE THE MOST AWKWARD GENUINE BROHUGGING IN ALL THE LAND. Eye of the Phoenix hugging all over again just like pfff that was close, bring it in man.

But dream!Arthur wouldn't do the same. :c

( real Arthur would tell Gwaine not to play with grenades because he knows what those are omg isn't your King the smartest!!! )

Ahem. Anyway. Yes, please, and thank you.

morgana's biggest fears lies in her memories and in the vision of Emrys so her dreams will either be -

1. Merlin poisoning her

2. Killing Morgause on the Island of the Blessed.

3. the events of "The Nightmare Begins", aka finding out about her magic, fearing uther will kill her, druid camp stuff etc.

4. The nightmare about Emrys aka HELP ME EMRYS, IS THIS WHAT YOU WANTED MORGANA, NO IT WASN'T WELP.

I thought I chosen one but really I'm still debating. herp derp.

Okay, so. After giving this a lot of thought and consideration ( and by a lot, I mean between shaking and sobbing and rolling on the ground ), I think I've decided that Arthur will see poison!gate, if it's still okay with you and Kami. I don't think there will ever be a time where he will be emotionally prepared to know about this, but it's important that he knows eventually and if anyone else found out before him and he continued on in the dark, I thinkhe might actually murder everyone in New Camelot. :T

That said! It is kind of Huge so if it's okay with you, can we have it happen at the very very end of the event? Arthur will be cursed to sleep-walking for most of the event, but once he snaps out of it and realises what's going on, he might run to find Morgana. Think of it as trigger reflex that batshit terrifying nightmares immediately means is Morgana okay? in Arthur's head, and after seeing this, he will not be quite right for some time, which is why I want it to happen at the end.

So if they could both wake up for Freya's scream and then just stare in horror before Arthur ~~goes to kill Merlin~~ Flips His Shit, that would be awesome! If not, nbd, I can work with anything really. I don't mind putting him down for the rest of the event if you want to do it earlier. Whatever works for you. C:

I have tons of things to do myself! so it's very cool if we do this at the end of the event! It works well for my schedule so it's a-ok with me, at least! c:

But okay! That is excellent. Not for them, really, because waking up from poison!gate to screaming and rain and your dearly begrudged sibling is not excellent at all. It'll be so much fun. :D

I don't know what I'm going to do with this plot. I had some ideas but I'm reluctant to put them into place. I'm leaning towards just having her dream of returning home to everyone in Nemeth laughing and/or shaming her because she came back without Arthur as her betrothed.

It's a bit simple but I think it's the best option without making a big splash! And I don't mind that.

WELP I SWEAR I POSTED THIS INTERNET STOP SUCKING THIS INSTANT.

Lancelot's nightmare is going to be the attack on his village. Only since it's been so long and he doesn't actually remember the faces of anyone there, starring as the slain will be all his current friends - castmates and cross-canon cr alike.

Oh yeah, and he will dream himself as a child, as he was in the attack.

Nightmare will most likely be death of the daddeh over here, so starring roles go to the Pendragons and involve some dream version of the illness brought on by the wound he received when his father actually died. So limited senses/movement/soonandsoforth
