state of the RP
Welcome to our brand new cast comm! Let's pop this bad boy's cherry the right way by starting off with some good old fashioned what is happen? Please leave a top-level comment below with a general summary of the current state of a) your muse and their development within the game, b) any current plots that may be going on involving your muse, and c) how you as the mun feel in regards to your muse and their position within the game. From there, you can go around to other people's comments to give feedback as well as plot new things for the course of this month. Everybody wins! |
here's faith riding her teal deer . . .
No, but really. The good King of Camelot is in a very strained mindset where he is somewhat isolating himself from everyone else. A lot of his really close CR dropped within a very short period of time, on top of Morgana going cray and his Knights being from the future and Gwen being from the past, so he's just very disillusioned with emotional attachment again. Think "I can't afford that luxury" land all over again, though to an extreme because this isn't Agravaine telling him not to trust anyone. It's just his heart being broken way too many times to count.
So he's being the sad kid in the corner right now. He's not really avoiding anyone but he's definitely more reserved and not at all talking about himself or acknowledging his emotions. He is staying very business minded about keeping the Citadel running and making sure everyone else stays on their feet. You might be able to expect some measure of mother henning, since he spends most of his time just taking care of everyone else like a good king should.
As far as plots go, I don't think he has much running right now. As per the discussion with Lyan and Mouse, he's sort of getting over Guinevere, or at least making an active effort to since the canon time / game development differences between them are just way too vast to bridge without feeling shallow. So there's that. Ooootherwise, not much! Hanging out. Doing kingly things. Wearily staring at Morgana being cray. The usual!
For me, I am struggling with RL stuff p.much constantly, so my activity levels are low even if they're not low low. They're lower than I'd like for them to be, but other than that, I'm really comfortable with him. Arthur's my strongest voice out of my muses and Asgard is my home game, especially now that I'm a full-time mod and driving the plot forward, so chances of me dropping him are close to nil. I think the only thing I might be struggling with is how depressed he is lmao but that's kind of ebbing away with the return of a couple friends and his focus on Ragnarok and things like that. Arthur's a miserable person anyway, we are past s1 in the land of No One Smiles Ever, so c'est la vie. He'll get over it.
And that's all you missed on Glee!

Like Arthur, Lancelot lost a lot of his friends lately. Some of them have recently returned but he is extremely paranoid about losing any more people now. With some, it makes him want to spend every second he possibly can with them. With others? He just doesn't want to start.
He's trying to keep his distance from Gwen because of the things Merlin told him of their future, but the more he tries to keep away the more he longs for her and he hates himself for hurting her but he doesn't know how to fix it without making everything else turn into shit. At this point, he's about ready to go to Arthur and beg him to send him on some mission to Utgard, to be his watchful eye, his knight there. He'll sleep on the street if he must he doesn't care he just can't do this anymore.
The one thing stopping him is the promise he made Mordred - never to leave him of his own volition. It seems like he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't and he can feel his sanity escaping his mind. He tries to keep busy - training for longer hours than usual, jumping on every opportunity to help anyone at all who might need anything. He's staying out of the house for most of the day.
He needs to grieve on friends lost, but since living with a roomy makes crying in the room kind of awkward he finds secluded areas in the city to do that in, I'm down if anyone wants to find him.
Things are more than awkward and tense between him and Merlin because of Merlin's confession with regards to poisoning Morgana - while he understands the situation Merlin was in he just can't get behind murdering your friend.
Speaking of which, Morgana is his one ray of light right now - because he's finally getting to her, she's finally talking to him again and he's just so grateful. He needs to do something right, because he misses her and because he needs something not to hate himself about.
Another thing he's extremely bothered by is the curse he suffered from last month, it touched a nerve. Being bent to the will of whoever passes him by not only terrified him but it made him wonder why he suffered that specific curse. He wonders if there is a part of him that's like that, that has no mind of his own, that he could be made or worse - persuaded - to do heinous things.
...tl;dr: everything sucks.
I'm doing better with him this month definitely activity-wise but I'm all sorts of shaky with his voice. I'm far too stubborn to leave you guys any time soon though.

So. There's that.
Arthur will punch him and then probably explain why nothing will happen between him and Guinevere and then give him his blessing and expect a dowry and also evoke King's right to honeymo -- no, just. No. Can't even joke about that.
Huzzah!

Think this'll do for a lot of interesting cr development between the two of them.
Might give Gwaine and Percy a heartattack at first but ah well.

But not really. She's still really hurt with how some people have been treating her, mainly Lancelot. Not to mention, she's always worrying about Morgana.
Basically, she thinks this place sucks.

Besides she's genuinely curious about the girl who trumps a princess and there's not any bitterness there, not for a while.

And good! Someone needs to. Lancelot is STUPID!

Gwaine definitely had his troubles in adjustment with the first week or so after his arrival. With his canonpoint especially, as things were kind of in dire straits. Everyone from Camelot that he found in Asgard was dead, dying, crazy or completely out of his realm of well-being knowledge, which made for a bit of an adjustment to make. All those young and long ago baby faces are difficult to handle sometimes. It's a dance of knowing some of the things lying in wait for them and not wanting to put more of that weight on them than he did in pretty much EVERY FIRST CONVERSATION HE HAD... (I'M REALLY SORRY ABOUT THAT BY THE WAY.)
But at the same time he worries about what good not saying anything will do. These are frustrating matters but he doesn't want to dick things up, what can ya do. I think he's learned his lesson in keeping his mouth shut for the first few minutes of a conversation re: new arrivals from home, at least. s o . Getting the rhythm of it down.
On the whole, Gwaine is... doing pretty freaking well, though. COMBO BREAKER IN THAT REGARD?
There are a lot of things going on around Asgard that confuse, frustrate, irritate or trouble him, but he's always been very good at keeping his head up and looking for a positive side. I think it's really been helpful that Travelers get a general idea of why they're in Asgard right off the bat, and he's taking it as something of a personal mission to do as much as he can. He's been jumping into a lot of things right off the bat; it's good to have a purpose at any given moment, however frivolous that purpose might be.
Gwaine is keeping up a standard of possibly very annoying cheer, most especially around all you Camelots. It's not forced, but it is very... determined. Going about serious things like he doesn't respect the seriousness of them is supposed to be one of his areas of expertise anyway. Basically he is just sort of being Gwaine and hoping that somehow it's being more helpful to everybody than not. And feeling oddly far behind in important things for all that he's from the future.
Also attempting to subtly play guard dog when he is around the homestead oops. Well, plenty was specially devoted to Gaius while he was in the city, but that's obviously changed and he is mostly done with the sulking specifically related to that. ALL OF YOU JUST KEEP YOUR BRACELETS WHERE HE CAN SEE THEM AND ALSO DON'T GET KILLED. That is a totally reasonable demand right? right.
In other news, he learned that Merlin is a sorcerer! Still kind of figuring out all the specifics that go along with that asflkdj. Probably a vaguely underwhelming response and a lot of general magic-related question-asking. idk it's Merlin and he's Gwaine, I don't think there's much explosive betrayal to expect on this front.
long story short: he is the Let's Go To Vegas Guy from the linked GIF. Come on. Leave your cares behind everybody, he's sorry that so many things are like the rocks in Charlie Brown's trick-or-treat bag.
AS FOR PLOTS:
- Energy Lending! Probably a thing that he's trying to do all the time because a) he's leveled up anyway and b) it's useful in a capacity that is actually useful. Like you guys can basically assume he's offered and/or loaned that shit out to your characters freely as anything. Or if you would like for him to do so specifically at any point, automatic yes. I just really like the idea of him randomly giving people energy around the house or work or wherever, I don't know why.
- Legitimately attempting to collect fleas for Theta Sigma. I DON'T KNOW. IT WAS SO EASY TO AGREE TO DOING IT and by god he is doing it.
- Still holding onto things for that prank war. I'm assuming he's found a convenient hole to store the socks in or something because they'd have killed any living man by now otherwise.
- TOTALLY ARRANGING MERLIN'S SCAVENGER HUNT. It is lame but I have it all typed up anyway. Mostly on that note, if anyone thinks their character could do with a random shenanigan or barfight or friendly stroll through the park/what have you, here is an always-willing volunteer for a day-lightener, if he can at all manage it.
- One of these days, Alice, I will curse him into behaving like a hideous noblemane. Well I dunno I guess it really depends on what's meant to be happening in this month in the grander scheme of things, because this sort of stuff I can easily push off for better timing. Not like I'm going anywhere! But it's still a thing I want to do so I thought I'd throw it in anyway.
- The ladies of New Camelot are his favorites ever goodbye everybody else 8| !!
Munwise, I'm still adoring playing him here alongside all of you fantastic people! It's been really easy to tag out with him and he's probably the strongest muse I've got in a game right now. No plans to drop on this front. I try to tag everything back in a timely fashion and know that I generally fail for speed-threading. But I'm always available to be prodded or have things talked out OOC, such as that helps.
I kind of worry about getting more substantial stuff (omg it feels so rude to say substantial like all his threads aren't really fun and enjoyable and I LOVE THEM), since he talks to so many people but it doesn't tend to be more than casual chatting/barfighting/flirting/being flippant about shit, but it isn't a big worry right now. asdlfk I'm more worried about all the casual threading seeming like I don't think about character development than I do anything else on that track at present. I PROMISE THAT I DO CARE. the end. this all made perfect sense.
wrapping myself in tl;dr and rolling away now I am sorry

I love all of your plots and everything you're doing, even Arthur is very lineface at Gwaine's hovering. He's happy to see someone being lighthearted, and he knew if it'd be anyone, it'd be Gwaine, so he's glad for it. Eventually they will probably have to have a bromantic moment of explaining the differing state of things between Camelot and Asgard so Arthur can explain why, exactly, Gwaine feels like he's missing something. A year in a magical alternate dimension changes people, Sir Knight. 8(
But Arthur does not want to go to Vegas. He is totally the guy that gets lost on the roof and that is just not on.

Morgana spent 2 months and a few weeks (asgard time!) disconnected from everyone and in utter denial of everything that happened in Asgard. She sort of accepted the self she had seen in her new memories up 'till s4 as the self she is supposed to be and really stuck with it successfully for 2 months.
Gwen's insistence, however, really threw her off her balance and she has begun to slowly really just admit to missing what she had in asgard before and this time locked down in house Hel really took its toll on her, healthy wise and mentally.
Finally now, she really is beginning to let who she was out rather than self she had built from the memories and to try and understand if she is controlling these memories or if they control her. She is beginning to realize that her memories have been controlling her and in a way, it also means the Gods have been controlling her since they gave her these memories.
That in mind, Morgana broke under the pressure of both loving and trying to hate the people in her life which led to a heart to heart with Gwen and then Lancelot. Sam Winchester also took matters into head and talked to her and really everyone have been pointing Morgana in the direction of Arthur and she had told him she declares truce since none of them really wants to fight the other.
Where do we go from here? ok so Morgana is really still not good!!!!! and really not redeemed though she is sorry for some of the things she had seen in her dreams she can't still be sorry for taking the throne and still declares herself Camelot's Queen however!! she is not s4 Morgana either, which means she won't hurt anyone unless hurt first. she direly misses the people in her life, Merlin has been talking to her about how Morgause had played her and tho she refused to listen then she's thinking about it now. She had started a tentative new Thing with Gwen and Lancelot, she had semi public sex with merlin (erm) and she has admitted to herself she doesn't really hate any of them, alas.
The next step is naturally Arthur, the two are always strained as far as their relationship goes but he is the one she'll turn to next and she'll try to bring Merlin in to the whole thing since she cares for him.
TLDR, she misses you all, she is trying to do better. welp.
